“People often require an attorney during their lowest and most vulnerable seasons of life. I understand that family dynamics can become intensely difficult and dysfunctional. It’s crucial to have an attentive and reassuring advocate that has both the legal skills and the emotional intelligence to help you navigate that painful chapter.”

Elizabeth R. Mitchell was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated high school from St. Ursula Academy. Elizabeth then received her bachelor’s degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, where she double majored in English Literature and French. During her junior year, Elizabeth studied abroad at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, where she fully immersed herself in the culture and was able to master the French language. In 2012, Elizabeth was selected as the guest speaker at the Study Abroad Conference held at the Yale Club of New York City. An avid writer, Elizabeth won the campus-wide writing competition during her senior year of college and had an essay published in Articulate, Denison’s student-edited journal. In 2013, Elizabeth graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society and the French Honor Society.

Elizabeth went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. During law school, Elizabeth interned for the Ohio Innocence Project, which is a nonprofit that fights to secure freedom for the wrongfully convicted and incarcerated. Elizabeth also had the privilege of clerking for Ohio Supreme Court Justice Patrick F. Fischer during his time at the Ohio First District Court of Appeals.

Since receiving her licensure in 2016, Elizabeth has practiced for over five years as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. An experienced litigator, Elizabeth has prosecuted countless felonies and misdemeanors. Elizabeth has also worked with various public children's services agencies regarding abused, neglected and dependent children, ultimately litigating their permanent custodial status.

Outside of the office, Elizabeth is a dedicated equestrian, tennis player, hiker and traveler. Elizabeth has a passion for children and received an Outstanding Commitment Award through Big Brothers Big Sisters. Elizabeth is also involved in volunteering and serving through her local church.
